This summer, the vibrant landscapes of Chichester and Arundel will transform into an enchanting outdoor gallery, thanks to The Big Hoot art trail. And we're thrilled to announce that HANRO will be a part of this spectacular event, sponsoring one of the magnificent large owl sculptures that will grace the streets and green spaces of West Sussex.


The Big Hoot: Art Meets Heart

The Big Hoot is more than just an art trail; it’s a heartfelt initiative created by the local children’s hospice, Chestnut Tree House, in collaboration with Wild in Art. This family-friendly event promises to bring joy and creativity to the community while supporting a noble cause. From July 10th to September 1st, 2024, Chichester and Arundel will host 30 large and 30 small owl sculptures, each uniquely designed by talented artists and sponsored by generous businesses, groups, and individuals.


An Unforgettable Outdoor Art Experience

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure as you explore Chichester’s bustling high street, serene harbour, and Arundel’s historic town centre, all adorned with these stunning owl sculptures. The trail offers a fun and free day out for families, art enthusiasts, and anyone looking to enjoy the summer in a unique way. With 60 owls to discover, there’s plenty to see and do over the eight-week period.


Supporting Chestnut Tree House

Chestnut Tree House is a beacon of hope and care for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions across East Sussex, West Sussex, and South East Hampshire. The hospice provides essential specialist care and support to these children and their families. However, this incredible work requires substantial funding—over £5 million annually, with only a small portion covered by government funding. The rest relies on the generosity of the community.


HANRO’s Commitment to Community and Care

At HANRO, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. By sponsoring one of The Big Hoot’s large owl sculptures, we are proud to support Chestnut Tree House in their mission to provide vital care and support to local children and families. Our sponsored owl, adorned with a unique design, will be part of this artistic journey, inspiring joy and engagement throughout the summer.

Farewell Event and Auction

As the trail concludes in September, there will be a special farewell event where all the owl sculptures will be displayed together, creating a mesmerizing "parliament of owls." Following this, the sculptures will be auctioned, with proceeds going to Chestnut Tree House. This auction is not just an end but a continuation of support, ensuring that the hospice can keep delivering its essential services.
